The RAFAC is the parent organisation of the Air Training Corps, an organisation sponsored (but not funded) by the Royal Air Force.

The Royal Air Force Air Cadets (aka ‘Air Cadets’) is the youth organisation sponsored by the Royal Air Force that manages both the Air Training Corps and RAF Sections of the Combined Cadet Force. The organisation is headed by a former serving RAF officer, Commandant Air Cadets.

1409 is an Air Training Corps Squadron in Consett, County Durham.

Comprised of approximately 10 cadet force adult volunteers, 35+ cadets, and a strong civilian committee, 1409 is a Squadron growing from strength to strength. Read more below.
